One of the Serbian old-timers at Microsoft has made many attempts to train the cooks in the Microsoft cafeteria to make some of the ethnic food we all grew up with… a few weeks ago, we got an invite to the official launch party at one of the on-campus cafeterias. We had pretty tasty ‘sarmas’ (cabbage rolls filled with meat and rice) and ‘cevapi’ (ground meat typically barbequed). When I arrived at Cafe 34 (the one where Bill Gates might be spotted), there was already a long line – apparently new ethnic fare is in high demand among other Microsofties, not just the ones from foreign lands. We’ll see if the cooks stick to the tried-and-true recipe for next month’s feast, but the initial effort, was quite tasty!
